If you follow me on instagram, you may have seen a series of post it notes I take with me to the gym for motivation? They have tracked my journey into gymlife and training .
I had joined the Your Gym based in the fab Salford Reds stadium before Christmas, but was mincing my way around . I made the decision to invest in a personal trainer, say hello to Danny Few, with his help and gentle but strong push I have made a path to a higher level of strength and fitness. Not without some bumps and still a work in progress.
My trainer Danny was also on a mission , a ten day ripping and shredding programme for a planned photo shoot. I couldn't help but be interested as it was the kind of shoot I had not previously done. The shoot was planned for the following Friday , so the phone call on the Wednesday from a slightly unhappy Danny was a surprise and an opportunity for me.
The other photographer had cancelled on him ! With all that eating clean and training in the bag he was as you would expect a tad !!.
Would I be up for it was the question .. duh let me think!
So comes to the night in question , we can only shoot when the gym is closed to the public , I arrived with a mountain of kit as I had thoughts but also was not sure how it would work in the setting, ie power availability etc. Was a tad strange lugging boxes into the gym with the last of the users doing their thing. The time was now around 10pm , they leave and Danny begins a 30 min workout to achieve a higher muscle definition . We had already planned which pieces of gym equipment to use , so I began to set up .
I had a blast . Working fast as sustaining the effort to get the shot as I realised is a tough call even for the strongest athlete. Packing up and reloading the car at around 1am was a different but great way to spend a Friday night . We marked it on Instagram with a cheeky shot of us both to join my motivational post it notes.
